The Preds have trouble this season beating teams they "should" beat. I'm interested to see the lines that Lavy rolls out tonight & how the PP performs. I think most Pred fans are just waiting to see what happens in terms of the trade deadline.

Duchene seems to be the primary target, but at what cost? I've seen some outlandish price tags out there. Fiala + Tolvanen + 1st round pick for a rental? I don't think so!

I watched the Jets-Avs game last night, the Jets PP is as bad as the Preds, something like 0 for the last 20. They actually looked a lot like the Preds. They lost 7-1 so I'm sure the overreaction will be to push for a big trade.

At this point I think we should stand pat. No way we should get rid of young guys for a rental. NO WAY. I'd gamble that if the Preds pull out of the funk, we'd be ok. Will they? Who knows, but I'm less impressed with the Jets, and I'm worried about the Blues. If anything, they could come in and steal the Central while the two "big guns" fall asleep at the wheel.

The Duchene thing is sounding more and more like it probably will happen, whether we like it or not. Allegedly, Poile is wiling to give up the most for him, and that scares me. It would be different if the team was in a 'one piece away' situation, but Duchene isn't going to solve all the problems the Preds have right now. Poile really seems to covet Duchene though. We all know who he really wanted in that three way trade last year... Turris was the consolation prize. I still don't get why Poile seems so enamored him. He's good, but he's not freaking Matthews or McDavid. Hopefully he's not so entranced that he's willing burn down the farm to get him.

good post

I think Duchene has the abilities to be one of the best centers in the game, I just haven't seen it from him for consecutive years. That said, adding him down the middle in NSH seems like the perfect fit. I hope it comes with a sign and trade because that means a lot more than ET
